Itinerary at a Glance

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi. Drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley, stopping briefly at a viewpoint to admire the breathtaking escarpment and surrounding landscapes. Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge or camp.

In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in the park, renowned for its thriving rhino sanctuary and diverse wildlife. Look out for both black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, baboons, and numerous bird species. Depending on the season, you may also see flocks of flamingos along the lake shores. Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive before departing for the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. The journey takes you through picturesque countryside, local towns, and traditional Maasai lands.

Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch and some relaxation. Later, head out for an afternoon game drive across the vast plains of the Maasai Mara. Keep an eye out for lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, hyenas, and antelopes. The reserve is one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations and offers excellent opportunities for photography. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.

Day 3: Full-Day Maasai Mara Safari

After an early breakfast, depart for a full day of wildlife viewing in the reserve. Explore different regions of the Maasai Mara as your guide tracks wildlife across the open savannah. The reserve is home to the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—as well as countless other species.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush while surrounded by the beauty of the African wilderness. Continue with afternoon game viewing, visiting areas along the Mara River where crocodiles and hippos are commonly seen. During the migration season, the river crossings provide one of nature’s most spectacular wildlife events. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full-Day Maasai Mara Safari

Spend another exciting day exploring the Maasai Mara. The additional day allows you to visit areas not covered on the previous day and increases your chances of spotting elusive wildlife such as leopards and cheetahs.

For those interested in local culture, an optional visit to a traditional Maasai village can be arranged. Here, you will learn about Maasai customs, traditional homes, dances, and their unique way of life. After a rewarding day of exploration, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Maasai Mara – Nairobi

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast while taking in the final views of the reserve. Check out and begin your return journey to Nairobi. Drive through the scenic Rift Valley, arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or the airport, marking the end of your memorable safari adventure.
