3 Day Gorilla trekking in Uganda
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe/Kampala
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport or in Kampala, depending on your travel plans. Transfer to your accommodation. There are various options, from luxury lodges to budget-friendly hotels in both Entebbe and Kampala. Rest and recover from your journey. If time permits, you can explore the local surroundings.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have an early breakfast at your accommodation. Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey can take around 8-10 hours by road, so be prepared for a scenic drive through Uganda’s countryside. Stop for lunch along the way. Check-in to your lodge near the park. There are various accommodation options catering to different budgets, offering a comfortable stay amidst the natural beauty of the area. Afternoon at leisure. You may take a nature walk around the lodge, interact with the local community, or simply relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Early breakfast at the lodge. Transfer to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing. Here, you’ll be assigned to a gorilla family and receive guidelines on gorilla trekking etiquette. Begin the gorilla trek, led by experienced guides and trackers. The duration of the trek can vary, ranging from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family you’re tracking. Spend one magical hour with the gorillas once you find them. Observe their behavior, take photos, and enjoy the unique experience of being in close proximity to these incredible creatures. After the trek, return to the lodge. Some lodges may organize cultural experiences or activities in the evening.
Day 4: Return to Entebbe/Kampala
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge. Begin the journey back to Entebbe or Kampala. You might take a different route to explore more of the region.
Stop for lunch along the way. Depending on your departure time, you may have some free time for additional activities or shopping. Depart for Entebbe International Airport or your next destination.
