Full Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, you will received by our representative and transferred to Nairobi Safari Club Hotel. After checking in, enjoy an afternoon visit to the National Museum Bird Gallery and a short bird walk at Nairobi National Museum Botanic Garden.


Day 2: Nairobi to Thika

Depart in the morning for Thika, known as “the city in the sky.” Explore Blue Post Inn, where you may spot coastal species that venture inland. Enjoy lunch at Blue Post Inn Hotel. In the afternoon, head to the slopes of Mount Kenya, Naro Moru, where you’ll find unique bird species. Dinner and overnight at Naro Moru River Lodge.


Day 3: Mount Kenya

Spend the day birding in the montane forest of Mount Kenya. Look out for rare species such as Green Ibis, Lesser Spotted Eagle, and Ayre’s Hawk Eagle. Dinner and overnight at Serena Mountain Lodge.


Day 4: Mount Kenya to Lake Baringo/Lake Bogoria

Depart for Lake Baringo with a stop at Nyahururu Waterfalls, where you may spot various bird species. Proceed to Lake Bogoria National Park, known for its unique wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Lake Baringo Country Club.


Day 5: Lake Baringo

Enjoy a full day of birdwatching around Lake Baringo, known for its rich avian diversity. Look out for rare species such as Cape Eagle Owl, White-faced Scops Owl, and more. Dinner and overnight at Lake Baringo Country Club.


Day 6: Lake Baringo to Kakamega Forest

Travel to Kakamega Forest, an isolated remnant of the equatorial rainforest. Explore the forest’s unique birdlife, including species like Turners Eremomela and Black-billed Turaco. Dinner and overnight at Rondo Retreat Center.


Day 7: Kakamega Forest

Spend the entire day birdwatching in Kakamega Forest, known for its rich avifauna. Look out for species like Chapins Flycatcher and Cameroon Sombre Green Bull. Dinner and overnight at Rondo Retreat Center.

Day 8: Kakamega Forest to Lake Victoria

Drive to Lake Victoria and explore the Dunga Beach Swamp, home to species like the papyrus yellow warbler. Dinner and overnight at Imperial Hotel.

Day 9: Lake Victoria to Lake Nakuru

Head to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos and diverse birdlife. Look out for species like Hilderbrants Francolin and African fish eagle. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.

 Day 10: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

Depart for Lake Naivasha, the only freshwater rift valley lake in Kenya. Enjoy a bird walk or optional boat ride. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Country Club.

 Day 11: Lake Naivasha

Explore the Lake Naivasha region with bird walks and a visit to the Elsa Mere field study center. Look out for species like Gadwall and Great white egret. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Country Club.


Day 12: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara

Drive to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, home to a wide variety of wildlife and bird species. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara Camp.


Day 13 & 14: Masai Mara

Spend two full days in the Masai Mara, exploring its extensive grasslands and unique bird species. Look out for birds like Corncrake, Jackson’s widowbird, and Rock Cisticola. All meals and overnight stays at Sarova Mara Camp.
